LEONARDO DA VINCI
Leonardo da Vinci was born in 1452
near the town of Vinci. He was a great man of the arts and the sciences.
During his teenage years, he was an apprentice in one of the best
studios in Italy. In 1483, he left for Milan. There, he worked
and completed his first
important art work, Madonna of the Rocks. He was a great
man of art during the Renaissance movement. His famous paintings
include Mona Lisa and The Last Supper. Leonardo was also a great
engineer and inventor. Many of his engineering ideas were recorded in his sketches.
There were many times where Leonardo was asked to
design state buildings or churches, and even to design new weapons. He also
did many sketches of the human body, including detailed drawings of
skeletons, muscle structures, and organ systems.
